Animated Explainer Video - Kingspan
Kingspan Timber Solutions are pioneers in sustainable structural timber construction. As the leading innovator in the development and application of structural timber technology, they manufacture and supply timber solutions for self builders.
The challenge Kingspan Timber Solutions had was they were getting a lot of customer queries about their Ultima Building System and wanted to reduce these by making an explainer video that was targeted at an audience of self builders explaining what the Ultima Building system is, the process and the benefits.
Kingspan Ultima Building System
We worked closely with the client to understand in depth the self build process and the Ultima Building System to enable us to accurately reflect each stage of the building process and the benefits and impacts this brings to the audience of self builders. We combined a 3D house in a 2D world to make the video which helped us to represent an authenticity to the house build with the 2D animation providing a simplified backdrop to tell the story. We consulted with the client on their script, helping them to cut to the core of their main messaging and then illustrated a storyboard to provide them with a visual narrative to iron out any tweaks prior to the animation process beginning. The video was then animated to music and a suitable voiceover was added to guide you through the story.
An important part of any animation project is the storyboard. This is a first draft storyboard for the Kingspan Timber Solutions 2D video animation. The purpose of the storyboard is to give the client an insight into the visual narrative of the story. It enables the client and the creative team to agree on the scripting, look and feel of the video and make any cost effective decisions before the animation video production process begins.
