University of Bedfordshire Case Study Video Production

We partnered with the University of Bedfordshire to produce two impact-led case study films covering projects across Bedfordshire and Northamptonshire. Combining real voices, on-location filming and clear visual storytelling, the films were created to communicate regional impact through credible, human stories. Explore our case study video production approach.

The Brief

The programme had delivered. Now the impact had to be proven.

The University of Bedfordshire needed to demonstrate the real-world impact of its programme and build a stronger evidence base for future funding.

The programme had supported activity across Bedfordshire and Northamptonshire, but the University needed to move beyond reporting what had been delivered and show what that support had actually meant to the businesses and communities involved.

With further funding in 2026 an important objective, the films needed to communicate impact clearly and credibly to the people evaluating the programme — combining evidence with the voices of those who had experienced its value first-hand.

The brief was therefore to create two case study videos that could turn programme activity into tangible proof, showing the human and business outcomes behind the funding across both regions.

Evidence Impact

Show what the programme changed

Move beyond activity and outputs to demonstrate the difference the programme made to real organisations and people.

Build Credibility

Let stakeholders tell the story

Use genuine experiences and multiple perspectives to make the evidence more human, credible and persuasive.

Support Future Funding

The Case Study Films

Two regions. Two impact stories. One case for continued investment.

Two films gave the University of Bedfordshire a way to demonstrate the programme's impact through the people, businesses and organisations experiencing it first-hand.

Rather than relying on programme statistics alone, each film combines stakeholder voices with real locations and business stories, creating a clearer picture of what the funding enabled across Bedfordshire and Northamptonshire.

Film 01 · West Northamptonshire

Showing the impact behind the programme

A regional impact story bringing together programme stakeholders and the people benefiting from UKSPF-backed support across West Northamptonshire.

Film 02 · Central Bedfordshire

Turning local outcomes into credible proof

A second case study film capturing the experiences of businesses and stakeholders in Central Bedfordshire, helping demonstrate the wider value of the programme.

The Series

Two regional films combining evidence, stakeholder voices and real-world stories to make programme impact easier to understand, communicate and support.

Our Approach

One university. Five businesses. Two regional stories.

To prove the programme's impact, we needed perspectives from both the people delivering it and the businesses experiencing the support first-hand.

In Bedfordshire, we spent the morning filming with two participating businesses before moving to the University of Bedfordshire for the afternoon. There, we interviewed the Vice Chancellor alongside members of university staff involved in delivering the programmes.

On a separate filming day, we travelled across Northamptonshire to capture three further business stories, giving the second film its own regional voices, locations and evidence of impact.

The production was deliberately lean: one producer and one DOP handled the filming, with a dedicated editor bringing the material together into two finished films. That kept the footprint small while allowing us to capture a broad mix of interviews, environments and supporting footage across both regions.

Campaign Value

From programme activity to evidence people could see.

The films gave the University of Bedfordshire a more human way to demonstrate why the programme mattered.

Reports and statistics can show what a programme delivered. The case study films added something different: the voices of the businesses, university teams and stakeholders who could explain what that support meant in practice.

By creating separate stories for Bedfordshire and Northamptonshire, the University could demonstrate impact across both regions while still giving each film its own local context, organisations and examples.

With further funding in 2026 an important objective, the two films became communication assets designed to strengthen the wider evidence behind the programme and make its value easier for stakeholders to understand.

It is the kind of evidence-led storytelling we develop as a corporate video production agency London organisations work with when complex projects need to be communicated clearly, credibly and through real people.

01

Funding Evidence

Strengthen the case for continued investment

Real business stories helped translate programme delivery into tangible examples of the value created across both regions.

02

Stakeholder Communication

Make complex impact easier to understand

University leadership, delivery teams and participating businesses gave stakeholders multiple perspectives on how the programme worked and why it mattered.

03

Content Longevity

Create evidence that can keep working

The two films provide the University with reusable regional stories that can support funding conversations, stakeholder communications and wider programme promotion.

The Strategic Role

Turn programme outcomes into credible, human evidence that helps stakeholders understand not just what funding delivered, but why continued investment matters.

Animation & Motion Graphics

Make the evidence visible. Keep it unmistakably on-brand.

The statistics were an important part of proving impact, so we gave the strongest numbers a more prominent role within the films.

Rather than treating animation as decoration, we used motion graphics selectively to reinforce key messages at the moments they mattered most.

Branded motion graphics were integrated into the live-action films to give key programme statistics greater emphasis.

Data in Motion

Give the numbers a job in the story.

The interviews provided the human evidence. Animation helped reinforce that story with the programme data behind it, giving viewers clear statistics to remember alongside the individual experiences.

Every graphic was developed around the University's existing brand guidelines, so typography, colour and visual treatment felt like a natural extension of the wider University of Bedfordshire identity.

This combination of live action and animation and motion graphics allowed the films to communicate both sides of the impact story: the human experience and the evidence supporting it.

Reinforce

Make key statistics harder to miss

Important figures were brought onto screen when they supported the point being made, helping evidence land more clearly.

Brand

Build from existing visual guidelines

Motion, typography and graphic treatment followed the University brand rather than introducing a separate visual language.

Integrate

Support the story, not interrupt it

Animation was used selectively within the live-action edit, keeping the people and business stories at the centre of both films.

FAQs

About the project. And the thinking behind it.

From proving programme impact to combining real business stories with animation, here's how the University of Bedfordshire project came together.

What was the brief from the University of Bedfordshire?

The University needed to demonstrate the real-world impact of programmes delivered across Bedfordshire and Northamptonshire. A key strategic objective was to build stronger evidence of the programme's value as it looked towards securing further funding in 2026.

Why did the University of Bedfordshire produce two case study videos?

The programme covered activity across two distinct regions, so separate films allowed Bedfordshire and Northamptonshire to have their own businesses, locations and regional stories. Together, the two films created a broader picture of the programme's impact.

See more about our approach to case study video production .

Who appeared in the University of Bedfordshire films?

We filmed the University's Vice Chancellor alongside members of university staff involved in delivering the programmes. We also filmed five participating businesses: two in Bedfordshire and three in Northamptonshire.

Bringing together programme leadership, delivery teams and businesses meant the films could show impact from several different perspectives rather than relying on a single organisational voice.

How was the case study video production organised?

In Bedfordshire, we filmed two businesses during the morning before spending the afternoon at the University interviewing the Vice Chancellor and other members of staff involved in programme delivery.

On a separate production day, we filmed three businesses across Northamptonshire. The shoot was delivered with a lean production team consisting of one producer and one director of photography, followed by a dedicated editor who shaped the material into the two final films.

How was animation used in the University of Bedfordshire videos?

Animation was primarily used to reinforce key statistics and important programme messages. Rather than adding graphics for decoration, motion was introduced where it could make evidence easier to understand and remember.

The visual treatment was developed around the University's existing brand guidelines so the animation and motion graphics felt fully integrated with both the live-action footage and the wider University of Bedfordshire identity.

How can case study videos help demonstrate programme impact?

Programme reports can communicate outputs, figures and activity. Video adds the voices and experiences behind those numbers, helping stakeholders see how funding or support affected real organisations and people.

For this project, combining business stories, university leadership and key statistics helped turn programme delivery into more tangible evidence of impact.

Do you produce case study videos for universities and education organisations?

Yes. Case study and impact films can help universities and education organisations communicate research, funded programmes, partnerships, student outcomes and wider economic or community impact.

What should an effective impact or case study film include?

The strongest impact films connect evidence with human experience. That usually means identifying the clearest strategic message, interviewing people who can demonstrate the outcome first-hand and supporting those stories with relevant locations, footage, statistics or animation.

It's an approach we use across our work as a corporate video production agency London organisations partner with when they need complex work communicated clearly and credibly.

Case Study & Impact Video

Make the impact easier to see. And harder to ignore.

If your programme, partnership or funded initiative needs to show what changed and why continued investment matters, we'll turn the evidence into a clear, credible human story.

Need statistics, data or key messages brought into the story? We can also integrate animation and motion graphics into the finished film.
