Publisher Marketing Video Case Study

Awin Publisher Marketing Video

Built for the publishers and creators driving affiliate growth.

A social-first campaign film combining live action and animated product moments to connect Awin with publishers, creators and influencers in the US.

The Brief

Making Awin relevant to a new generation of publishers.

Awin needed a publisher marketing video that could support its US expansion by speaking directly to creators, influencers and digital publishers.

The campaign film had to demonstrate the value of the affiliate platform through real-world use, build familiarity with the Awin brand and capture attention quickly across social-first channels.

Rather than creating a conventional software demonstration, the brief called for an audience-led product marketing video that made the platform feel useful, accessible and relevant to the people growing businesses through affiliate partnerships.

Watch the Film

A publisher marketing film built for the creator economy.

A social-first campaign film created to make Awin’s platform feel relevant to publishers, creators and influencers in the US.

Live action, audience-led storytelling and animated product moments work together to show how Awin can support creators as they build partnerships and grow their businesses.

The film is an example of our product marketing video production for platforms that need to connect product value with a specific audience.

Our Approach

A creator first story. With the product built in.

To connect with publishers and creators, the film needed to reflect their world before explaining the platform.

We built the story around an ambitious creator developing her audience and responding to new commercial opportunities. Awin’s product benefits then appeared naturally within that journey, making the platform feel relevant rather than imposed.

As a creative video agency , we connected audience insight, live action and motion design within one idea. The result was a focused product marketing video designed around the people Awin wanted to reach.

Built around the publisher

The narrative began with the creator’s ambitions, routines and commercial opportunities rather than a list of software features.

Product value within the story

Animated alerts and interface moments demonstrated how Awin could support growth without turning the campaign into a conventional software demonstration.

Designed for social attention

Clear visual storytelling, immediate product moments and flexible framing helped the campaign work across horizontal and vertical social formats.

Behind the Scenes

Authenticity started with the location.

We hired a working yoga studio in Docklands, London, so the creator’s world felt lived in rather than constructed for camera.

The real environment gave the campaign an immediate sense of credibility, while art direction, lighting and performance shaped it around Awin’s publisher audience.

Docklands, London

A full production team working across two countries.

Creative direction was delivered remotely from South Africa, with a specialist production team working together on location in London.

The director of photography, gaffer, focus puller and sound engineer managed the technical detail, while the producer and art director kept the performance, environment and product story aligned.

Planning the live action and animated product moments together meant the character’s eyelines, gestures and phone interactions could be captured precisely for post production.

Concept Product UI

Visualising the platform before it was finished.

Parts of the publisher experience were still evolving when the campaign entered production.

Rather than rely on unfinished screens or generic placeholders, we created a credible visual interpretation of how the Awin experience could appear within the film.

Product ideas were translated into clear alerts, opportunities and reporting moments that audiences could understand immediately. The interface was then designed for motion and integrated into the live-action performance.

This allowed the product marketing video to communicate the intended value of the platform before every part of the final software experience was available to film.

Product Story

Communicating the promise

The film could demonstrate the intended publisher experience even while parts of the software were still evolving.

Visual Credibility

Designed to feel believable

Each interface moment was created to feel consistent with Awin’s product world and natural within the character’s journey.

Motion Design

Built for the performance

Alerts and product interactions were composed around gestures, eyelines and phone movements captured during the shoot.

Campaign Value

More than one film. One connected campaign idea.

The creative approach gave Awin a consistent way to connect publishers with both the brand and the product.

Live action established the audience story, animated software moments communicated the product value, and social-first versions carried the same idea across different formats.

It demonstrates how a product marketing video campaign can create one clear visual system rather than a collection of disconnected assets.

One audience-led idea

The campaign was built around the ambitions and everyday world of publishers, creators and influencers.

Product value made visible

Concept interface design and animation helped explain the intended platform experience before every software screen was finalised.

Designed for multiple formats

The visual language was developed to work across the main campaign film and shorter horizontal and vertical social versions.

Project FAQs

Questions about the Awin publisher campaign.

More detail on the campaign objective, live action production, concept software design and social content created for Awin.

What was the objective of the Awin publisher marketing video?

The film was created to support Awin’s US expansion by making the platform relevant to publishers, creators and influencers. It needed to build familiarity with the Awin brand while showing how the product could support partnerships and business growth.

Why was the campaign filmed in a working yoga studio?

We hired an operational yoga studio in Docklands, London, to give the creator’s environment a genuine, lived-in quality. The real location helped the campaign feel more credible than a generic studio set while still giving us space to shape the lighting, performance and art direction.

How did you show software that was not yet finalised?

Parts of the publisher experience were still developing, so we created a visual interpretation of the intended product journey. Product ideas were translated into clear alerts, opportunities and reporting moments, then designed for motion and integrated into the live action.

How was the Awin campaign shoot produced?

Creative direction was delivered remotely from South Africa, with a specialist crew working on location in London. The production involved a director of photography, gaffer, focus puller, sound engineer, producer and art director.

Performance, phone movements and eyelines were planned around the animated product elements that would be introduced during post-production.

What content was created for the campaign?

The campaign included the main publisher marketing film, horizontal and vertical social versions, and animated product moments designed around the same audience-led creative idea. This gave Awin a consistent visual story across different placements and screen formats.

Can MHF create a product video before the software is finished?

Yes. MHF can use product documentation, approved designs, prototypes and input from product teams to develop a credible visual representation of the intended experience.
